About

I would never have thought, having grown up in Europe, that I would move to a continent that was so far away. Africa to me was untouchable, foreign and strange. I do not recall what encouraged me to accept an offer as an Au Pair in Bulawayo, a small town somewhere in Zimbabwe which I had never heard of before, but the day I landed at the tiny airport and smelt the African September – I knew that it was right to come here.

Back in Europe I studied Tourism and Leisure Management, gained a lot of praxis in some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Europe and travelled whenever possible. It was only in 2009 when I came back to Zimbabwe to run a Lodge and be part of this ‘time of change’ in the Zimbabwean economy, lining up for milk and bread but feeling that unbelievable optimism, I discovered what I had been looking for in all these years. No wonder I cancelled the flight back to Europe when I have been offered the chance to stay

Since I moved to Bulawayo (yes, now I know where it is) I have been able to experience the country and its people in its most beautiful facets. Nevertheless, my journeys went far beyond the boarder and brought me to unique places into Botswana and Zambia.

It is the love of this country and its people, and my most amazing experiences which I would like to share with you. The Safari Source gives me the possibility to tailor-make safaris for guests, who are looking for an authentic safari experience in Southern Africa.
