Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge

Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge is elegantly positioned, with the main area elevated atop a cliff. This provides guests with glorious views over the Save River and into the Gonarezhou National Park as it stretches along the Zimbabwean-Mozambican border. The Chilojo Cliffs and Chivilila Falls makes the landscape unique.

The lodge itself is large and open, all built out of stone, timber and thatch. The handsome selection of natural materials in a muted palette, gives guests the authentic and homely African feel. Due to its position, guests benefit from picturesque views available from both the main area and the chalets. The large pool is definitely a focal point, taking advantage of the surrounding vistas. The large deck allows panoramic views for guests whilst they enjoy dinner under the stars.

Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge has 10 luxury king or twin bed chalets with spacious en-suite bathrooms and private balconies. Other amenities include a mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, and a safe.

Nhambo Self Catering Lodge, which is situated slightly away from the main camp, offers 4 self-catering double chalets with en-suite bathroom, plunge pool, kitchen and BBQ area, as well as one family chalet with the same facilities.

Mahove Tented Camp (seasonal), is a semi luxury tented camp within Gonarezhou National Park and offers guests the opportunity of experiencing this pristine wilderness area at close quarters. Situated on the banks of the Runde River, offering accommodation in 4 Twin Bedded en suite (shower & flushing toilet) Tents. Daily activities include walking with our resident professional guide, game drives & birding to the Chilojo Cliffs and to the nearby water pans. This camp is seasonal, and only available May – October.

Ivory Trail Adventure

If enjoying a sundowner along the Save River is not quite adventurous enough for you, take part in the Ivory Trail that the lodge has uniquely developed for its more adventurous guests. The exact route and campsites will be tailored to take advantage of seasonal hot spots, and to accommodate specific requests.

The part of Gonarezhou National Park explored on the Ivory Trail Adventure has a long history
with Ivory Hunters during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Guests will have a dedicated professional guide and safari vehicle for the duration of their Ivory Trail Adventure.

The adventure showcases the areas diverse wildlife and exceptional birdlife and is expertly guided. A truly unique experience for any safari enthusiast!
