Cutty Sark

This hotel used to be one of a kind at the Lake Kariba. Located on a private property with lovely gardens and access to the lake itself, it attracts wildlife and game. Undisturbed by guests and staff the wildlife also enjoys visiting the gardens.

Cutty Sarks in Kariba still has its charm, but has seen its best days. The staff greets you with a warm welcome and makes the stay comfortable and pleasant.

The hotel is of interest for families and bigger groups who are looking for basic hotel accommodation for the night. Some rooms have air-condition, which is a nice add-on for the hot Kariba nights. Otherwise the rooms are equipped with basics, most have a balcony or a verandah overlooking the beautiful Lake Kariba.

However, the building needs more than just the soft refurbishment which has been done recently. The large pool and generous bar area are to the guest’s disposal, whereas the tennis court is mainly a playground for monkeys nowadays. A big advantage is the in-house restaurant with a capacity for smaller groups. The terrace and restaurant both overlook the lake. Á la carte meals are served three times a day. Activities can also be booked en-site with one of the various tour operators who have their offices directly at Cutty Sarks.
