Project Description

Jao Camp is one of the original premier camps in the region. Situation on a remote island in the centre of the great private Jao Reserve in the Okavango Delta, the camp is surrounded by seasonal floodplains, which are dotted with islands along the coast. The lodge’s décor  is imposing and luxurious.

Jao can and should be experienced as both a camp for itself as well as for its surrounding environments depending on what visitors wish to get out of their safari experience. The camp aims at providing its guests with a more individual and adaptable experience than many of its neighbours.

The food and spa facilities are top class and round off the perfect safari trip. Relax and enjoy all that the delta has to offer with a brilliant and varied choice of water-based activities available.

The 9 spacious beautiful tents have en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. The twin bedded canvas and thatched rooms are situated beneath a canopy of shady trees. The main area offers its guests a lounge as well as a traditional Boma for dining under the stars, and a wine cellar. For relaxation there are 2 plunge pools, a gym and a spa with a wide range of massage therapies to choose from.
