On the banks of the Zambezi River, at the meeting point of the Sapi River, sits the glorious Chikwenya Safari Lodge. This homely yet extremely luxurious holiday destination is host to a number of fun activities, top-class facilities and top-notch service all cumulating in a wonderful safari experience. Enjoy a game drive, a night drive or even a bush walk in the remote area of the Zambezi National Park. Or go fishing and on a sunset cruise on the grand Zambezi River.

Open grassland floodplains, riverine forests, Jesse bush and wooded islands all surround the lodge, making for guests to gaze upon one of Africa’s best wildlife sanctuaries. The Chikwenya Safari Lodge prides themselves on creating the ultimate safari experience for all its guests, with activities not being regulated to certain times. This allows guests to enjoy uninterrupted sunsets and year round game.

NOTE: Chikwenya is open seasonally between April and mid/late November.

The 7 standard lodges are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private decks overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. The rooms and also the main area are linked with pine walkways which is not only a fitting feature of the camp but also for the guests safety in this wildlife area. A lovley special of this camp is that it offers guests exclusive access to the lower reaches and mouth of the Sapi River as well as Chikwenya Island in the middle of the Zambezi.

The main area has a dining room, a lounge and a bar with entertainment area. The outside deck offers dining facilities as well as a viewing deck, a swimming pool and a fire pit. There is also a cultural research centre and a small memoir shop at the guests’ disposal.
